Clean Rooms - Restaurant had quality food and great value breakfast, parking was a modest price and definetly would only stay there when in Newcastle
An easy stroll to a number of venues around the cbd and beautiful harbor. The city has excellent facilities for cyclists and appears to promote and welcome cyclists throughout the area.
For a new building the linen appears very old and grey or grey that has been washed out. Stains on the towels with the hotel promoting hanging up your towels for the environment have you thinking are these fresh!!!
I really enjoyed the walk down to the point and across the various park and waterfront area.
The room I had no 326 looked onto a building site and not onto the Newcastle beach as advertised on the bookings site. The room was subject to traffic noice and was not what I expected.I am sure I will not use this hotel again.
The staff were friendly and helpsome.
I am in about 30 Hotels every year, I do not like the fact that I have to pay same prise for 24 Hours Internet connection, as I pay for a whole year in my house. Most Hotels internet in included in room charge. I had some guests for business talk and friendly talk, a bit disappointed that the Bar closed before midningt.
A modern and well positioned hotel in Newcastle - staff extremely helpful. There is a La Petit restaurant adjoining that is very welcoming in decor (lovely old furnishings), a good tapas style menu, and reasonably priced.
The decor is minimalistic throughout - the rooms are particularly so, there were 2 very mod chairs for relaxing that were not easy to get out of, whilst there wasn't anywhere to write or even have breakfast! There is a large bathroom and great handbasin, but no room on the shelving that comprises the vanity! Parking/drop off zone outside the hotel is minimal - it would be impossible for coach access!
Proximity to beach, restaurants, clubs, and bars
Cost of items in the minibar
We didn't have very long there as we had to travel to Hunter Valley for a concert so had very limited time in the hotel. Bed very comfortable, staff were pleasant . overall had a comfortable stay
only thing was the doorstop in the bathroom . stubbed toe on it as right at the base of the toilet
It was close to the beach and the hotel was relatively new.
The $15 charge for parking was exbortitant and I was not notified of this when I made the reservation. The fittings in the room were relatively cheap and I doubt that it will age well. Also the king sized bed was essentially two singles placed together. Whilst there were ocean views it was a maater of looking across a carpark/construction site.
Quiet location a few blocks from the railway station, good air conditioning. There were nice cafés located by the beach (the hotel is a little further away)
The 'studio' was a last minute offer, which I don't think is worth full price: just a regular hotel room with tea cooking facilities and a minibar (ie. a small fridge full of the hotel's own merchandise), a safe and an ironing board. The staff were friendly but somehow uninformed and helpless. They couldn't answer my question about Hunter Valley wine tasting tours with pickup from the hotel: “When you have decided what you want to see, you can hire a driver to take you”. The receptionist offered to 'google' the train timetable to Sydney for me (which was nice, but usually hotels have answers to those top-ten questions readily printed out, or at least a bookmark).
I loved the Bath Robes. They were awesome and I was very tempted to ask how much they were. I also felt that the service from the reception staff was exceptional. I had 3 people help me on both the Monday 18th Jan 2011 (afternoon) and Tuesday morning, and they could not have been more helpful. Please pass on my congratulations.
N/A - Everything was fantastic
Location was ideal and facilities new and modern
Small hotel. Very friendly and very quite. In a great location
A little on the expensive side for a nice but very basic hotel room. No bath in the bathroom.
I am very happy with this hotel, high recommend to any bussiness people.
Location mainly suited business
easy walk to beach
More STERILE than usual for these hotels exacerbated by minimalist decor awfully uncomfortable lounge chair in room limited space in bedroom construction noise from building next door locked cupboard (why neccessary??) under vanity limited shelf space in a minimalist bathroom
